We found David Bell via the web and his website and contacted him about buying a home in Seattle. I was being transferred to Seattle and we needed to move within 90 days. We had done a lot of research online about Seattle neighborhood's and talked with people we knew in the Seattle area. We had scheduled a trip to Seattle in two weeks and wanted to buy a home while we were there, and we knew what neighborhoods we wanted.
Are we ever happy we found David. First, what we thought were good neighborhoods for us were not and David showed us why. If we had bought a home in any of the neighborhoods we thought we wanted to live in our commute would have been a nightmare and actually not the kind of neighborhoods we really wanted anyway. Boy can you get misleading information from the web.
Well to make a long story short, we ended up buying but about a month later. David said to us: "Don't buy the best available home at the time unless it's the right home." He was so right. We looked at 10 homes and none were exactly or even that close to what we wanted. David told us that the right home will come up but we had to be patient. About 4 weeks later he called and said to check our email. He had sent us photos he took of a new listing that was perfect. We got on an airplane that even and wrote the offer the next day and we are thrilled. We guess finding the right agent is much more important than we ever thought. DAVID IS THE BEST!!
David, thanks for selling our Townhome in Fremont so quickly in this very difficult market. And thanks for being honest and realistic with us about the price and what to expect. You did a great job keeping it all together because of the difficult buyer and their agent as well. Seattle's Best Real Estate, for sure!
I was referred to David Bell through my companies employee blog. He had several recommendations there yet I talked with four agents to assist me in buying my first home. I was impressed with David's upbeat attitude but his knowledge of the buying process and the current market was what lead me to finally choose him. I had also read several books on buying real estate and researched the buying process in detail. David knows what he is doing.
This being my first home I was very cautious and needed a lot of time to make most decisions. Never once did I feel pushed by David in the 4 months we looked at homes. He was always positive and able to give me accurate answers to all my questions and was able to really help me refine what I was really looking for in a home. When we found the home we thought was perfect for me, I was very busy at work and David was able to accommodate my schedule very well. David advised me as to the price we should offer and I honestly thought it was too low but I took his advise and I ended up having to come up some in price but it was still below what I expected to pay. David also brought me throughout the escrow and closing process very well. He made sure that the escrow company was there to answer any of my questions and even got the loan documents to me a week before closing so I could review them prior to the actual signing. It all went very smoothly and I am very pleased with everything. I would recommend David to anyone thinking of buying real estate or selling real estate for that matter.
We were referred to David Bell by my brother who is a Realtor in Minneapolis. When we all met with him we were very pleased with his knowledge and experience so we decided to work with him as our buyers agent. Even though the market had turned into a buyers market, there was not a lot of inventory for us to look at, we were very picky and David was very supportive and patient. Never did we feel any pressure to buy. Also what I wanted in a home was very different from what my husband wanted and David worked with us on what would be appropriate compromises for us to make. David showed us houses over the next 5 months and we ended up writing an offer on one but the sellers then decided not to sell. So back to the drawing boards. Throughout the entire time we looked at homes with David he took the time to educated us very well on what were good homes and which were bad homes to buy. Each time he told us "this is a good one and it will sell quickly" it did.
Then while I was out of town on a business trip, a home came on the market that David had my husband meet him there. My husband and David thought the home was perfect. David talked with the other agent and told my husband that we needed to act quickly or the house would have been gone. My husband wrote the offer after talking with me, and I was honestly really nervous but it seemed like the only way we could get the house. David presented the offer and the seller verbally accepted the offer and the listing agent was on his way over to their house to get it signed when he got a call from another agent saying that they had written an offer.
The listing agent knew David's reputation well and convinced his clients to sign our offer because that was the right thing to do and he knew that David wouldn't let anything happen to cause the deal not to close. So we got our dream home! It's absolutely a perfect home for us and we are so happy. Thanks to David Bell can't be emphasized enough. If you ever get the opportunity to work with him, take it!
Here I am spending my first Christmas in my new home. I just bought a tree and have placed it by the window. I'm now beginning to feel like this is all real and this is mine. Thank you David for helping me realize my dream.
During the time we worked with you David -- even the period we said we were out of the market you kept us appraised of new listings and market trends that were of interest to us. You exercised great professionalism and patience in explaining the intricacies of financing and the market forces to us in a way that was easy to understand. When we finally decided to make an offer on a home (which you showed us within an hour of being listed), our offer was accepted by the sellers despite the fact that there were several offers on the property, and ours was the lowest by $5000. When we later met the sellers we asked them why they accepted our offer instead of one higher offers. They said it was because of your agents' presentation, "he made us feel confident and that the sale would close". We are, therefore, aware that our offer was successful due in no small way to your negotiating skills, tact, and persistence. For all you did for us David, thank you.
I can't thank you enough for your guidance, professionalism, thorough knowledge, persistence, perspective, and humor! You are the best. You make dreams come true.
We want to formally thank you David for helping us with the sale of our Queen Anne home. Your attention to detail and professional attitude together with a keen knowledge of the local market and positive working relationships with other agents and brokers in the area were major factors, not just in attracting an acceptable offer but, in making certain that the transaction closed.
We love our new home. Thank you for being in tune to what we wanted and for being so on top of the market. Thank you for your savvy, guidance, advice, handholding, and hospitality throughout the whole process.
Thank you so very much for the work you did selling our house and property in Seattle. You are obviously competent, energetic real estate agents. Doing business with you was easy. You were available and patient with us even when we were getting impatient and crazy. When there were questions to be answered, you did the research if you didn't know the answers. Also you hung in there and never gave up even when the whole situation became discouraging. Your professionalism and ingenuity were what finally put the deal together.
Thank you too for being there for our son to assist him when he was left behind to close the house and do all the utility switching. You were helpful and a great resource. Your services were appreciated. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to others. You know your business well.
David I want to thank you or all your efforts on the Seattle side of this transaction! I really appreciate your professionalism and ability to get the job done. I don't believe this would have worked out without you!
Dear Mr. Bell,
It's not often in life that we in today's society get a chance to thank someone for an act of kindness. Most of the time these acts go unnoticed through out our lives. Well, this one will not go without being noticed.
Last year while my fiancé was returning home from her job, she had the misfortune of being involved in an automobile accident in Seattle. As she sat there in her car in a daze and in shock, it was you who came to her aide. She sustained minor injuries in the accident but was still in no condition to realize what was going on around her. You were the ones to comfort her and insure that not only was I called to be informed of the accident but her parents were as well. It is my understanding that you also stayed there for quite a while to ensure that she was taken care of. Your call enabled her parents and me to meet her at the hospital. Had it not been for your call, our trip to the hospital would have been one of sheer fear and anxiety. I gathered from your call that she was not badly hurt and that the ambulance was taking her to the hospital.
No one forced you to do what you did, your genuine concern for the welfare of others and your selfless act distinguish you from your peers and associates. For this I commend you and wish to thank you for what you chose to do.
I found David daily "check-in(s)" with me made all the difference in my level of comfort and trust. David Bell is an outstanding Realtor and I would recommend him to my friends.
I'd refer anyone selling a house to David Bell.
Dear Prospective Home Buyer:
My husband, Brian, and I recently purchased a home in the Queen Anne area of Seattle. Our Realtor for this transaction was David Bell. I am writing this letter to enthusiastically recommend David to you if you are considering buying a home in the Seattle area. Brian and I first met David at an open house. We were initially impressed with David's straightforward manner and his interest in working for us as a "Buyers Agent". When we eventually selected a Realtor, we interviewed a number of people, including David. We choose David over the other Realtors we were considering because he appeared to be particularly knowledgeable about the Queen Anne, Magnolia, and Capital Hill areas of Seattle and these were the locations where we were most interested in buying a home. He also had a unique, in-depth, and refreshing understanding of what a Buyers Agent should do to represent their clients. In addition, David exhibited none of the high-pressure techniques we had come to associate with other Realtors we had met.
We first began seriously looking for a home in March of last year and made an offer on the home we ultimately purchased in June. During the four months we looked for our home, David contacted either my husband or me almost daily with information about new listings. After viewing several houses with us in the beginning of our search, David quickly understood what was important to us in a house and what styles of homes we preferred. He then prescreened many of the new listings for us and provided us with detailed information about the houses so we could decide whether to look at them ourselves. This type of hands-on service was very important to us because we didn't want to take the time to look at every house in our price range. We are both professionals and have very busy and demanding schedules. We also found that he responded very quickly when a new house came on the market so we would not lose any opportunities through delay.
During our search, there were several houses that came fairly close to meeting our requirements before we found the house that we eventually bought. David didn't try to push us into making offers on these other houses and when we decided not to, he was very supportive of our choices. On the one house on which we made an offer that was not accepted, David thoroughly researched the comparable in the area and advised us what they believed the market value of the house to be. This was the price that we offered. The sellers were unwilling at that time to come down from their list price and we passed on the house on David's advice. We later learned that after languishing on the market for many months, this house sold for exactly what David had advised us it was worth. David's expertise in valuing real estate saved us thousands of dollars that we might have paid for this overpriced house if we had not been properly advised.
Although we spent many weeks looking for our house, David never appeared to be in a hurry to close a deal and did not pressure us into making a hasty decision. On the contrary, he consistently appeared to be truly interested in finding us a home that we would love regardless of how much time it took.
When he ultimately found us our new home, he negotiated a great deal for us. The house had been on the market for almost a year and was overpriced. It was a wonderful home with a fantastic view and it was well over our price range. After we sat down with him and stargazed our offer, we never thought that we could get it for what David suggested we offer for it. David is a great negotiator!! He also helped us through every step of the escrow process and recommended an excellent mortgage broker that we used to obtain financing. The transaction went off without a hitch and we truly love the house we bought.
We would recommend David to you without hesitation. Working with him was a great pleasure.
Very truly yours,
David, you are a pleasure to work with. Unfortunately it's rare today to work with another agent that really knows what they are doing. I would do a deal with you any day!
